Julia Fox says she “works hard” for her body and denies using Ozempic
The Uncut Gems actress shut down critics who accused her of using the type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic for weight loss
Julia Fox denies using Ozempic to help her lose weight recently.
The 33-year-old Uncut Gems actress firmly denied using Ozempic, an FDA-approved prescription drug for persons with type 2 diabetes, in a recent interview with The Cut. It’s one of the commercial names for semaglutide, a drug that affects satiety in the brain.
She insisted that she only “worked hard” to maintain her physique.
“All these people are coming for me saying that I take the weight-loss things … people are saying that I’m taking Ozempic or whatever it’s called,” she told the outlet. “I’m not, and I never have. I would never do that. There are diabetics that need it.”
As the drug-related charges continue to circulate in Hollywood, Fox isn’t the only celebrity to respond.
Alexia Nepola, a Real Housewives of Miami actress, refuted claims that she and Marysol Patton used Ozempic in a recent episode of the show earlier this month. They were ingesting B-12 injections, according to Nepola, who spoke to Page Six.
Nepola, 55, told the outlet that it was for energy and contained other minerals.
“The B-12 usually contributes to anybody’s health,” she said, “but the doctor had prescribed it to Marysol because she felt weak and lethargic, and [it] maybe had something to do with her diet.”
The attending physician described the shot as a “fat-burning shot” and instructed the two to administer it once a week for maintenance, which piqued fans’ curiosity.
After posting a picture of herself in a bikini in January, Kyle Richards of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills likewise denied claims that she was competing in the Olympics.
“I won’t be participating in Ozempic. not ever, “After the assertion from a fan, Richards wrote.
She made a further addition: “I’ve never used Ozempic, and this isn’t the result of cosmetic surgery. In May, I did undergo a breast reduction.”
At Elton John’s 31st Annual Academy Awards Watching Party, she later revealed that her recent weight loss was the result of continuing to work out in the gym and changing her lifestyle.
“I started losing weight eight months ago, actually, because I stopped drinking alcohol eight months ago,” Richards said. “It wasn’t any diet drug ever, never touched it. So it really just frustrated me because I’m working out really hard.”
