He spent nine years with Disney, most recently as president of content and marketing for Disney+, where he oversaw the service’s launch. He left Disney+ in early 2021, joining a long list of executives who had left the fast-growing streaming service.

Strauss’ addition to the Disney+ team in June 2018 demonstrated that Disney was serious about its entry into streaming. Strauss formerly served as Walt Disney Studios’ head of marketing, where his campaign credits included work on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Marvel’s The Avengers, and Captain America: Civil War.

Strauss came to Disney after seven years as president of Participant Media, where he was responsible for film campaigns such as The Help, An Inconvenient Truth, The Cove, and Waiting for Superman.

Apple TV+ made history when it became the first streaming service to win the Best Picture Oscar for CODA.

Apple TV+ has also published Cha Cha Real Smooth, Luck, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, and Spirited as features.
