For many Sex and the City fans, the question “Big vs. Aidan” is pivotal.

The conflict between Chris Noth’s businessman John James “Mr. Big” Preston and Sarita Choudhury’s earnest furniture maker Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett, isn’t particularly exciting to the movie’s star Sarita Choudhury.

At Sunday’s 75th Annual Writers Guild Awards in Los Angeles, Choudhury, 56, exclusively revealed to PEOPLE that he was “[on] neither [team]”. The individuals who made up either team always left me perplexed.

“I knew when I took it on. I was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s the opposite of me,'” Choudhury said. “I don’t do anything that she does and I don’t have that kind of, just the way she takes charge, I would like to with my entire life and I don’t so it’s actually been fun.”

She continued, “Even though I’m playing her as a character, I’m starting to wonder what’s shifting into my life and if she could help even the little things like coming to an event like this.”

The actress mentioned how reprising her role as Seema this season has given her more self-assurance when it comes to her fashion choices, citing the low-cut top she wore to the WGA as an example.

“Yes, I chose to dress in this manner. However, I have been donning these outfits all season. Now, it means nothing to me “She spoke.

HBO has not yet announced a premiere date, but a Jan. 13 Instagram post featuring Parker, 57, in costume holding hands with her ex-fiance as they strolled down a Manhattan street confirmed Corbett’s return.
