Jeremy Renner claims to have broken 30 bones in a snowplow accident
The actor shared a photo of himself getting treatment on his legs following the New Year’s Day incident that led to his hospitalization.
Jeremy Renner is informing fans that he shattered 30 bones in the New Year’s Day snowplow accident that landed him in the hospital, but that he is on the mend.
On Saturday, the actor took to Instagram to share a snapshot of himself obtaining medical attention for his legs. “This year’s morning workouts and resolutions have all changed…. “Born from tragedy for my entire family, and rapidly focused on unifying actionable love,” he captioned the photo. “I want to thank EVERYONE for their kind words and concern for my family and me.”
“Much love and appreciation to you all,” Renner continued. These 30 or so shattered bones will heal and grow stronger, just as the love and bond with family and friends grow stronger. Love and blessings to everyone.”
His Avengers co-star Chris Hemsworth was among many who expressed their support in the comments, writing, “You’re a champion mate! We adore you.”
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Department provided an update on what the office described as a “tragic tragedy” occurring at Renner’s Mt. Rose Highway neighborhood property in Nevada on Jan. 3. Sheriff Darin Balaam stated that Renner was driven over by a snowcat, an engine-powered snow-clearing equipment, after attempting to re-enter it when it began to roll away.
The Hawkeye standout was airlifted from his residence and was treated for traumatic chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.
The next day, he posted his first video update from the hospital, which showed him getting his hair washed during a bed bath. Renner captioned her photo, “ICU spa time to raise my spirits.”
The actor, who celebrated his 52nd birthday on Jan. 7 at the Reno hospital, sent a note to the medical staff on the night before his birthday: “Thank you Renowned Medical ICU team for beginning this journey.”
