Aaron Carter’s charity concert raises over $150K for Non-profit
Nick Carter, Lance Bass, and David Archuleta were among those who performed at the special event.
A benefit performance in memory of the late Aaron Carter raised more than $150,000 for a nonprofit organization that promotes children’s mental health.
Angel Conrad and Lance Bass headlined the “Songs For Tomorrow” concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. Among others who performed were Nick Carter, Bass, David Archuleta, AJ McLean, O-Town, LFO (Brad Fischetti), Ryan Cabrera, B. Howard, and Jeff Timmons.
Throughout the night, Aaron’s friends and loved ones shared their loving memories of him. A tribute was also performed for the over 600 concertgoers in attendance. The video also included the unreleased song “Recovery” by the late vocalist.
After taking the stage, Fischetti opened out about his relationship with Aaron, as well as the deaths of two of his bandmates to cancer. He also reminded people to seek assistance when they are in need.
To cap the show, everyone returned to the state for a rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” a song Nick recalled Aaron would frequently sing.
The singer of Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) died on November 5 at the age of 35. Carter was discovered deceased at his California home, according to a spokesperson from his management team. At this moment, no cause of death has been discovered.
Nick took to Instagram before of the event, stating, “We are so thankful for all of the love & support in advance of tomorrow night’s benefit concert. It is so wonderful to see so many people come together for such an important cause.”
All the proceeds raised went to On Our Sleeves, a national movement to break stigmas around children’s mental health.
