Celebs Blast Kanye West’s Presidential Bid

THE world of showbiz is turning on Kanye West over his bizarre presidential bid calling it a very “dangerous” stunt.

The unconventional rapper sparked Twitter mayhem when he announced he was joining the race for the White House.

However, the news has not gone down well with other stars who have warned the rapper not to meddle in the political world.

One of those with some strong words of advice for Kanye is Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am.

He said: “It’s a dangerous thing to be playing with. If you’re not serious, you don’t play with that, especially now.

“Like, what the f***, seriously, I don’t even know what community service you do.”

Will.i.am – real name is William Adams – added there are other ways Kanye can help his country.

He added: “For the past 11 years I went back to the ghetto where I’m from and started a school.

“I started with 65 kids – now I have 720 kids and growing.”

And he is not the only big name telling Kanye he is the not the right man for the job.

Katy Perry has said “the presidential job is best suited for someone with experience, and that is a pro in their field”.

She also speculated that her good friend’s presidency could get more than “a little wild”.

TV host and journalist Piers Morgan replied to Kanye’s announcement by tweeting: “Not now, Kanye. Seriously.”

Actor and singer Eric Balfour blasted: “Do you guys think this is all a joke? That potentially pulling votes away from the only nominee who can defeat Donald Trump is cute or funny?

“This is the height of privilege, ultimately it won’t hurt you, you’re wealthy enough to survive 4 more years of Trump! Come the f*** on!”

Model Tyson Beckford warned: “He’s really getting himself in a pot of tea that’s not ready for him.

“I try to never speak bad. I’ve seen him and his lady, do some positive things, and I kind of wish they would just stay on that.

“That vibe running a country – it’s not an easy thing.”

Help actress Olivia Spencer tweeted. “It’s obvious that some people live in a bubble. It’s about time to burst it. #2020vision”

Among those poking fun at Kanye was comedian Tiffany Haddish.

She quoted Kanye’s tweet, but changed the last sentence: “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I too am running for president of the United States!”

Stand up comedian Jay Pharaoh tweeted: “I think we should give Kanye West the AOL Free trial treatment if he gets in office.

“He gets 30 days, if he’s doing well after the 30 we subscribe for another trial version, if he’s messing up we can subscribe to another service.”

Whereas Paris Hilton mocked Kanye’s declaration by posting a mocked-up picture of herself outside the White House with the words ‘Paris for President.’

Earlier we told how Elon Musk appeared to be reconsidering his support for Kanye’s presidential run.

The Tesla CEO gave the musician his “full support” when he declared his intention to join the 2020 race for the White House last week.

However, Kanye then gave a four hour interview to Forbes in which he supported anti-vaxx conspiracy theories and said Planned Parenthood carried out the “devil’s work.”

Following the interview, Musk was asked on Twitter if he still supported West, to which he replied: “We may have more differences of opinion than I anticipated.”

However, Donald Trump has backed Kanye’s presidential bid saying it “would be a great trial run”.

Kanye, who previously said he was running in 2024, is an outspoken supporter of the current president and spent time with Trump in the Oval Office before the 2018 midterms.

However, despite the prospect of the musician disrupting the 2020 race, the US leader told reporters he supports West’s political ambitions and that he has “a real voice.”

But, Trump dismissed the idea of Kanye – who is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian – actually winning due to him missing the deadline to register in a number of states.

He said: “It’d have to be limited to certain states because in some states the deadline has been missed.”

“If he did it he would have to view this as a trial run for what’s going to happen in four years.”

West has told Forbes he will be running as a candidate for the “Birthday Party” and that his running mate is a little-known preacher from Wyoming named Michelle Tidball.
