Selena Gomez fails a COVID-19 test and cancels a scheduled appearance on “The Tonight Show”

“Get updated on your boosters,” she reminded fans

Selena Gomez was forced to cancel her planned plans. The singer and founder of Rare Beauty revealed on Wednesday (Oct. 26) that her scheduled performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has been postponed since she tested positive for COVID-19.

I won’t be appearing on Fallon tonight. I ultimately contracted COVID, but I’m resting and feeling well,” the singer reassured fans in a post to her Instagram Story, which included a picture of her dozing on a couch with her two dogs nearby. “Just wanted to let you know that COVID is still active. Check the status of your boosters. Actually, I was supposed to receive mine this week. I adore you all.

Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me has been the focus of Gomez’s promotional efforts.

The documentary, which will be released via Apple TV+ on Nov. 4, will see the Disney Channel alum exploring her physical and mental health issues, and her attempts to heal over the past six years.“After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness,” a release describing the documentary reads. “This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light.”

Ahead of the documentary’s November 4 premiere, Gomez spoke to Vanity Fair about sharing her deeply personal story with the world.

“As nervous as I am to put out something this personal, in my heart, I know now is this time. I hope that sharing my experience and difficulties, will help people feel inspired to share their own stories. And to have hope that things can and will get better,” she told the outlet

On November 3 at 8 a.m. ET, Gomez will release “My Mind & Me,” the song that appears in the documentary’s official trailer.
