Stallone’s estranged wife accuses him of financial wrongdoing
Jennifer Flavin, 54, filed for divorce from the “Rocky” star on Aug. 19, calling their union ‘irretrievably broken’
According to court documents, Sylvester Stallone’s former wife Jennifer Flavin claims she is entitled to more than half of the couple’s assets in their Florida divorce because the “Rocky” actor allegedly squandered their holdings.
“The husband has engaged in the intentional dissipation, depletion, and/or waste of marital assets, which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate,” the divorce petition claims, suggesting that Flavin, 54, should receive a larger share of the wealth divide.
Stallone, 76, is reportedly worth $400 million through his films, real estate dealings, and numerous enterprises.
Flavin, a former model from California’s San Fernando Valley, has mainly avoided the public glare while raising their three daughters. She is entitled to 50% in a divorce under Florida law, and the former couple had collected enormous wealth over the course of their 25-year marriage.
Valentina Shaknes, a partner at the matrimonial law firm Krauss, Shaknes, Tallentire, Messeri LLP, said, “There’s certainly an allegation of wrongdoing.”
The divorce suit does not detail how Stallone allegedly spent the couple’s money, but Shaknes believes “it could be anything from gambling to supporting significant others if there’s a girlfriend or something like that.”
Flavin and Stallone married at the Dorchester Hotel in London in 1997, when she was 29 and he was 51. However, there has recently been trouble in paradise, with Flavin seen in Los Angeles without her wedding band 11 days before she filed for divorce.
A few days later, Stallone was photographed covering up a portrait of Flavin on his right bicep with the visage of his beloved late dog Butkis, who appeared alongside him in “Rocky.”
Flavin’s divorce lawyer, Jeffrey Weissman, is known in the wealthy enclave of Palm Beach for representing extremely high-net-worth clients.
A Florida matrimonial lawyer, Abigail Beebe, agreed that there appeared to be an allegation of financial impropriety. “This phrase is common English, but it wouldn’t be presented in this fashion unless it’s something they believe happened,” she explained.
The lawsuit also asks for an order prohibiting Stallone from selling or transferring assets throughout the process. Beebe told Fox News Digital that the high-profile divorce is notable for its public nature. When wealthy or famous people divorce in Florida, they usually file after settling their differences.
“Look at Jeff Bezos,” she pointed out. “It was already over when we found out about his divorce.”
Flavin might have filed somewhere in Florida to avoid the limelight if all sides agreed.
In the petition, Flavin requested “exclusive use and occupancy” of the former couple’s 13,241-square-foot waterfront home, which cost them $35 million in 2020
Flavin has not commented publicly on the split, while Stallone told Fox News Digital, “I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues.”
