Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are married!
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have tied the knot
According to sources, the two stars’ marriage and license from Clark County, NV were filed on Saturday, July 16, showing that Benjamin Géza Affleck and Jennifer Lynn Lopez are actually married.
In April, the “Marry Me” actress confirmed her engagement to the “Good Will Hunting” star via her fan magazine, “On The JLo.”
“You’re perfect,” Lopez is heard saying as she gazes adoringly at her green engagement ring in the video. I always say the color green is my lucky color. Maybe you can remember a certain green dress,” she explained in a previous newsletter, referring to that famous Versace silk chiffon number she wore to the 2000 Grammys.
“I’ve realized there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing green,” she added.
“Green is my lucky color,” Lopez said in April as she showed off her engagement ring.
The couple met in 2001 on the set of their movie “Gigli” while Lopez was still married to her second husband Cris Judd. Following their June 2002 separation, “Bennifer” was born, with Affleck making an appearance in Lopez’s unforgettable music video for “Jenny from the Block.”
A month after the video’s release, Affleck proposed to J.Lo, presenting her with a 6.1-carat pink diamond from Harry Winston.
Unfortunately, the pair had to cancel their wedding owing to media pressure, as they stated in a joint statement at the time.
“We have decided to postpone the date due to the increased media attention surrounding our wedding,” the pair explained. “We noticed something was wrong when we found ourselves really considering hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ in three different locales.”We began to sense that the spirit of what should have been the best day of our life could be jeopardized,” they said. We were concerned that what should have been a wonderful and meaningful day may be ruined for us, our families, and our friends.”
By 2004, the couple had called off their engagement and separated. Later that year, Lopez married Marc Anthony and welcomed twins Emme and Max, born in 2008.
Meanwhile, Affleck married Jennifer Garner in June 2005 and has three children with the actress: Violet, Seraphina, and Sam.
Both marriages ended in divorce.
“I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him,” Lopez said in an interview back in February. “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.”
According to court records, the couple got a marriage license in Clark County, NV — which was taken out and processed on Saturday, July 16. It’s in both of their names — their legal ones at that … Benjamin Geza Affleck and Jennifer Lynn Lopez.

The pop star threw up a ton of content on her website/newsletter — OnTheJLo — where she and her team have spilled all the deets about their nuptials. Jen writes, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
She continues, saying “That’s exactly what we wanted. We went to Vegas last night and stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same trip to the wedding capital of the world. Two males held hands and held each other behind us. In front of us, a young couple who drove three hours from Victorville on the occasion of their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanted the same thing: for the world to recognize us as partners and to announce our love to the world via the old and practically universal symbol of marriage.”
Jen recounts that they barely made it to the wedding chapel before it closed, and while they had hoped for Elvis to preside, he was unavailable. They continued on, taking photos in front of their witnesses, who appeared to be some of their respective children.
J Lo describes it as their “dream wedding,” one they had long desired, and concludes by saying “All you need is love,” they declared, and they were correct. We are so glad to have that in abundance, a new lovely family of five amazing children, and a life to look forward to.”
She finishes here … “Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at twelve-thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for.”
