Tom Cruise rings in his 60th birthday in style; attends the 2022 British Grand Prix

The actor from Top Gun attended the British F1 Grand Prix on Sunday to honor his 60th birthday. The actor was seen meeting fans and shaking hands with other VIP attendees while grinning widely. 

Cruise dressed casually for the special outing, donning a light blue polo shirt, his trademark aviator sunglasses, and dark pants.

While chatting with Martin Brundle for Sky Sports, Cruise did not hesitate to express his support for the British F1 champion when discussing the race on Sunday. 

“Lewis always,” he said. “He’s a great friend of mine. I hope he has a great day.”

In pictures posted by F1’s official Instagram account, Tom can be seen in the paddock, waving to a cheering crowd and acknowledging them just before the race. In another set of pictures posted after the race concluded, Tom is seen in the pit lane, hugging British driver and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who finished third in Sunday’s race. In other pictures, the actor cheered on winner Carlos Sainz Jr.

Next year, Tom will reprise another fan-favorite character of his–Ethan Hunt, as he returns to the Mission Impossible franchise with its latest offering Dead Reckoning Part 1. The film is slated for release on July 14, 2023.

Cruise also went to see Adele perform at the British Summer Time Hyde Park Festival in London before his birthday weekend. The same weekend, Adele was also seen by Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, and the cast of Heartstopper. According to Variety, Cruise’s latest movie, Top Gun: Maverick, surpassed the $1 billion mark at the box office around the world earlier this week. It was the first of Cruise’s movies to achieve the exceptional feat; Mission: Impossible – Fallout from 2018 came in second with $791.1 million in worldwide box office receipts.
