Lori Loughlin hits her first Red Carpet following college admission scandal

Lori Loughlin has made her return to the red carpet.

On Saturday evening, the actress, 57, attended her first red carpet event since the college admissions controversy, the DesignCare 2022 Gala in Los Angeles, California, to benefit the HollyRod Foundation.

The Holly Robinson Peete Foundation, founded by her former NFL player husband Rodney Peete, assists families whose loved ones have been diagnosed with autism or Parkinson’s Disease.

Loughlin smiled at the photographers while wearing a long-sleeved blue dress. A dazzling silver clutch and a pair of similar strapped silver heels completed the look for the Fuller House star.

Loughlin’s hair was parted in the middle and fell to her shoulders gently.

Loughlin’s attendance at the dinner was her first red carpet appearance since she and her husband Mossimo Giannulli were both arrested in March 2019 for their roles in Rick Singer’s college admissions scandal.

One of Loughlin’s last red carpet appearances before the nationwide sting snared her, fellow actor Felicity Huffman and other prominent parents participating in admissions bribery, was with her daughters at a Women’s Cancer Research Fund event in February 2019 in Beverly Hills.

Since being released from prison in December 2020, the actor has largely kept out of the spotlight. She was most recently spotted at Kris Jenner’s Galentine’s Day celebration alongside Kym Douglas, Corey Gamble, and Tammy Gustavson back in February.

In May 2020, the couple admitted to spending $500,000 to falsely identify their daughters Olivia Jade Giannulli and Isabella Rose Giannulli as recruits to the University of Southern California crew team, despite the fact that none of them had ever participated in the sport.

Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison, a $150,000 fine, and 150 hours of community service, while Giannulli, 59, received a five-month sentence, a $250,000 fine, and 250 hours of community service.

The actress began her prison sentence in October 2020 and served about two months before being released in December of that year from a federal penitentiary facility in Dublin, California.

Meanwhile, Giannulli was booked into federal jail on Nov. 19, 2020, and his five-month sentence ended in May 2021 when he was freed from home confinement.
