John Travolta is “really proud,” according to Ella Bleu Travolta, of her emerging music career
The singer released her latest single “No Thank You” in December
Ella Bleu Travolta is developing her own identity.
She opened up about pursuing her love of music and the support her father John Travolta has given her along the way in an interview with PEOPLE about appearing in the new Silk Nextmilk campaign.
Ella, 22, tells that she has “really loved singing and performing ever since I was little, whether it was acting, dancing, or singing.”
“When the pandemic first started about two years ago, I thought, “Oh, I have some ideas for songs that I just recorded as voice memos.” I should try to complete them “Adds she. “So I started writing and finishing those songs. Oh, I really like this, I thought.”
She later released the poignant songs “Dizzy” and “No Thank You.” She also plans to release an EP later this year.
Regarding the inspiration for the upcoming project, which she intends to call The Colors of Love, she states, “I had never actually been in a relationship or anything, but I had watched other people be in relationships or experience some form of love.”
Ella (also known as Ella Bleu) continues, “Each song offers a unique perspective on love, whether it be in a personal or familial setting, or in situations where love is desired, unrequited, or combined with grief. I, therefore, learned a lot from experience, but I also learned from friends, family, and just by observing other people.”
Travolta and the late Kelly Preston are Ella’s parents, and Ella claims that her father is her biggest supporter.
“He’s really proud, which makes me very happy,” she says. “He really likes the style of music as well. He enjoys listening to it and he will show everyone.”
Earlier this year, Ella starred in a hilarious PlayStation commercial with the Grease star. And though she says they have no future plans for collaborations — Ella looks forward to doing it again. (They previously acted alongside one another in 2009’s Old Dogs and 2019’s The Poison Rose).
“I always jump at the opportunity to do something with my dad and we always have the most fun doing something together,” she says. “So, hopefully, we’ll do something soon again. Maybe another project or movie. I’m always up for that.”
