The ‘Lucky Hank’ trailer shows Bob Odenkirk experiencing a midlife crisis

In the first full-length look at the ‘Better Call Saul’ star’s new series, Odenkirk plays a college professor struggling to come to grips with mediocrity.

The first full-length trailer for Bob Odenkirk’s new drama series, Lucky Hank, which he will be starring in on AMC, is now available.

“A midlife crisis tale set at Railton College, told in the first person by William Henry “Hank” Devereaux, Jr. (Odenkirk), the unlikely chairman of the English department in a badly underfunded college in a working-class American town,” is how the Better Call Saul Emmy nominee describes the upcoming program. Hank’s dissatisfaction stems from unresolved issues with his father, an entitled and mediocre student body, and the fact that his department is more bitterly divided than the Balkans.

Lily Devereaux, played by Mireille Enos (Hanna), is the wife of Hank and the vice principal of the neighborhood high school in rural Pennsylvania where they live. As Hank’s life starts to unravel, Lily begins to question the path she’s on and the choices she’s made.

Sara Amini, Diedrich Bader, Suzanne Cryer, Olivia Scott Welch, and Cedric Yarbrough are featured in the show as well. Executive producers and co-showrunners, Aaron Zelman and Paul Lieberstein adapted the project from Richard Russo’s book Straight Man.

On March 11, Lucky Hank will have its global premiere at the South by Southwest film festival in Austin. On Sunday, March 19, it will make its AMC debut. Additionally, partners BBC America, IFC, and Sundance TV will stream the premiere.
