“Normal Gossip” joins the lineup for on-air fest
The producer and host behind 2022’s breakout podcast will bring fans behind the scenes and crowdsource for gossip from attendees.
This year’s On Air Fest will feature an appearance by Normal Gossip, the breakout podcast from Defector Media that delivers anonymous tidbits of gossip from regular people, to give listeners a glimpse behind the scenes and share some gossip from attendees along the way.
The main stage of the three-day audio and podcasting festival in Brooklyn will feature performances by host Kelsey McKinney and producer Alex Sujong Laughlin on February 25. On the same day that Cornish receives the festival’s highest prize, the Audio Vanguard Award, Pivot co-host Kara Swisher will join CNN’s Audie Cornish for a main stage discussion about Cornish’s lengthy career in public radio and, more recently, podcasting.
Krista Tippett, a Peabody Award winner, will also host the relaunch of her show On Being with a live interview with U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, and Mo Rocca, the host of Mobituaries, will host a live taping with comic and creator of Dead Eyes Connor Ratliff.
An immersive walk-through experience featuring podcasts including My Favorite Murder, Radiolab, poet Hanif Abdurraqi’s Object of Sound, and The Heart are among the previously announced activations at the festival.
From February 23 to February 25, On Air Fest will take place at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn.
