The Consumer Technology Association predicts $485 billion in retail revenue in 2023
The consumer tech exhibition wraps Sunday in Las Vegas.
The annual CES Show ended Sunday in Las Vegas, where the consumer tech expo was electrified with an estimated 3,200 exhibitors, including 1,000 start-ups, following a muted post-pandemic return in 2022. The final attendance has yet to be reported; however, the Consumer Technology Association, which runs CES, stated in December that it hoped to surpass 100,000 delegates.
CTA’s annual consumer tech forecast for the year anticipates a recession and inflation, with retail revenue projected at $485 billion. This would represent a decrease in spending from the previous two years of pandemic-era activity in this market, which peaked at $512 billion in 2021. It would increase from the $467 billion yearly retail revenue reported by CTA in 2020.
