Salma Hayek Pinault says ‘Magic Mike’s last dance’ lap dance scene was “very physically challenging”
The ‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ actress dished on what it was like playing her role alongside Channing Tatum.
Salma Hayek Pinault discusses working on Magic Mike’s Last Dance with Channing Tatum.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight published Thursday, the Puss in Boots: The Last Wish actress discussed the making of the sensuous lap dance scene with Channing Tatum shown in the trailer.
“It’s quite physically demanding,” Pinault told ET. “Oh, my gosh. You simply wait to see. It’s simply complicated.”
In the third chapter of the series, “Magic,” Mike Lane is working as a bartender in Florida when he meets a wealthy socialite, played by Pinault. Her character then entices Mike to London with a lucrative business proposition to headline a dance event. In the film, Tatum reprises his role as a male stripper, which is roughly based on his own experiences as a stripper in Florida.
Pinault also dished on what it was like playing her character, which she took over from Thandiwe Newton, in the comedy-drama.
“I play a strong woman,” the Frida actress said. “You know what was my day going into the office? I would just sit around and watch, like, 12 men, semi-naked dancing and doing pirouettes. And I got to boss them around.”
Ayub Khan-Din, Gavin Spokes, Caitlin Gerard, Juliette Motamed, Jemelia Georg, and Vicki Pepperdine also star in the Steven Soderbergh-directed picture.
Magic Mike’s Last Dance, which is supposed to conclude the series, will be released in theatres on February 10. In the meantime, Pinault can be heard in the upcoming animated adventure-comedy Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which opens on December 21.
