Unconfirmed Cayman Island timeshare marketer and disgraced actor Armie Hammer and his family are the subjects of a new Discovery+ docuseries House of Hammer, which chronicles five generations of the Hammer men’s alleged abuses of power.

“Magnify Succession a million times and it was my family,” says the actor’s aunt Casey Hammer in the trailer for the series, premiering Sept. 2.

Hammer’s oil tycoon family has been the subject of immense controversy, beginning with his great grandfather Armand Hammer.

According to a woman represented by attorney Gloria Allred during a virtual news conference last year, the actor was accused of rape and “other acts of abuse.” Hammer’s alleged wrongdoing first appeared on social media when reports surfaced that he had sent frightening messages to multiple women on Instagram. The latter claimed to be in sexual relationships with him.

Hammer labeled the charges “bulls—-” who cited “vicious and baseless online attacks.” Following the scandal, Hammer was replaced in a number of projects, including the Broadway play The Minutes, the Jennifer Lopez comedy Shotgun Wedding, the Paramount+ series The Offer, and the Cold War drama Billion Dollar Spy.

House of Hammer interviews several women who claim to be survivors of the Death on the Nile actor’s abuse, exposing his family’s dark secrets, which range from charges of violence and abuse to political manipulation and financial fraud.

“When it comes to the Hammer family, the charges of rape and violence leveled against Armie Hammer in recent years are only the top of the iceberg. With House of Hammer, we see truly disturbing facts and sinister truths that money and power cannot keep hidden indefinitely “According to Jason Sarlanis, President of Crime and Investigative Content, Linear and Streaming,

“This documentary provides an important platform for the incredibly courageous women who came forward to share their stories, and we hope their courage inspires others to continue meaningful conversations around abuse in our society.”
