Chris Hemsworth is officially on TikTok
The Australian actor took to the social platform to promote his latest “Thor” installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The 38-year-old Thor: Love and Thunder actor posted his debut video to TikTok on Saturday, and as of Sunday, he has amassed nearly 600,000 followers there.
“Sydney fans! LA fans! Love you guys! #ThorLoveAndThunder opens Wed in Aus and Fri in the US. Preorder tickets now, link in bio. Oh and hi TikTok……!” Hemsworth wrote in the caption, promoting his latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
His first video featured clips from the world premiere that took place at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles last month, where he and his co-stars signed autographs, snapped photos with fans, and generally had a good time.
Hemsworth makes his fourth solo appearance as the Norse god of thunder in the MCU. In this film, he reteams with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, who has adopted Thor’s abilities in their most recent battle with Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale). Taika Waititi and Tessa Thompson both make a comeback as Valkyrie and Korg, respectively. Waititi, 46, also serves as writer and director again following Thor: Ragnarok in 2017.
Hemsworth previously made light of his decision to strip for the movie Thor: Love and Thunder, saying it had taken him a decade to decide.
“It was 10 years in the making, that scene — a dream of mine. The first time I played Thor I took my shirt off and I thought, ‘You know what’s gonna sweeten this…’ A decade from now, it’s all going to come off,” Hemsworth said.
The Australian actor also raved about the latest sequel after first taking on the Marvel superhero’s hammer in 2011’s Thor.
“For over a decade you have shown us that Thor is still worthy. We’re humbled and grateful to all of you who have been part of this incredible journey,” he wrote last week on Instagram. “We can’t wait for you to see #ThorLoveAndThunder in theaters July 8th.”
“Thor: Love And Thunder,” which also stars Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt, and Russell Crowe is set to hit theaters on July 8.
